I recently tried out a few chocolately goodies from Shabtai Gourmet, a unique Gluten Free Bakery line specializing in Gluten Free, Lactose Free, Soy Free, Casein Free, Peanut Free & Dairy Free Cakes and Cookies – and you will never believe how great they taste with all that’s NOT in their products.
Swiss Chocolate Roll
As soon as I opened it up, the Swiss Chocolate Roll took me back to the days of childhood and the happiness of enjoying the little foil wrapped Ho Ho’s. In fact, Shabtai Gourmet just introduced a mini snack size of the full sized roll called Yidels (which just won Kosherfest’s Best New Product.) Sliced up, the full version could serve about 6 people. It’s a chocolate covered cake roll with a super nice creamy middle. I shared this roll with another gluten free family and I hear that it was inhaled and rated two thumbs up. It’s Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Peanut Free, Soy Free, Casein Free, Lactose Free, Corn Free, Certified Kosher and No Preservatives!

Bon Bons
The Gluten Free & Egg Free Bon Bons arrived smashed to little pieces, so I didn’t feel that I could share them with other gluten free friends, not that I minded too much. The box suggests that you “Chill for a Thrill,” so I did. These were actually my favorites out of their treats that I tried. These are crunchy cookies with creamy white filling, dipped in yummy chocolate. The bite sized chilled pieces that were in my box were a delicious treat and I’m thinking if I get another box, I will smash up them into the same little pieces to be enjoyed one bite at a time as I pass through the kitchen. That was a fun and a little less guilty way to enjoy them!

Florentine Lace Cookies
Florentine Lace Cookies are an old favorite of mine from when I used to buy gluten filled goodies, so I was really excited to see these. The ones I remember are delicate and light with a thin coating of chocolate on one side. Not so with these. They are thick and substantial with lots and lots of thick, dark chocolate. Yum! My taste testers loved these as well! In fact, when I delivered them to my friends, the celiac girl at the door grabbed one out of the box and inhaled it before I even finished telling her what I had brought for her. Her eyes rolled a little at first bite and that turned into a big smile. That reaction said it all. These are Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Peanut Free, Soy Free, Casein Free, Lactose Free, Corn Free, Certified Kosher and No Preservatives!
