I was so excited when the doorbell rang and there is the UPS guy with a box full of Shabtai sweet treats!! Shabtai sent me a seven layer devil food cake, swiss chocolate roll, raspberry roll, lady fingers, and lace cookies. My Favorite was the Seven layer devils food cake with vanilla creme filling. I did not expect gluten , lactose , cassein, and soy FREE snack to be this good. My sister-in-law love it too. She was excited when she was able to have seconds.
My second favorite was the Swiss Roll. Can you tell I am a chocoholic? Very good flavor and texture. You worry when something is healthier that is will taste funny. Not the case here at all. You can not tell the difference.
The Lace Cookies were my least favorite. I thought they were ok. But really didn’t enjoy them much. I am sure there are plenty of people who would disagree but for me these just didn’t taste very good. They were edible just not something I would pick when I want something sweet.
I thought the Raspberry Roll was pretty good. I am not a fan of coconut but I love raspberry. The coconut flavor is not real strong and I thought this had a good flavor and texture. This would be great for breakfast with coffee.
Last but not least the Lady Fingers melt in your mouth. I spread some nutella on them and YUMMMM! What a wonderful treat!
What a pleasant surprise! I never expected to enjoy these sweets as much as I did. Most certainly didn’t taste like I would expect a Gluten free product to taste. I highly recommend checking out Shabtai products.
