Part of Jon’s biggest issues with following the gluten-free diet is missing out on his old favorites. Being diagnosed as an adult as one thing. Being diagnosed as child, who remembers what gluten-filled foods are like, is tough. As I have written about before the gluten-free product selection has really come a long way.

Back in December I received and reviewed some complimentary samples from Shabtai Gourmet. There were a couple of products that I was not able to get to. I just pulled the Super Moist Brownies out of the freezer the other day & we were finally able to dig into them.

I had fully intended on cutting these up & sending some into work with my husband for his gluten-free co-workers & then getting Jon & Hannah dessert. Somehow a bite made it into my mouth and I have to say that I was amazed! These tasted like Ho-Ho’s! Do you remember Ho-Ho’s? The only thing missing was the cream in the middle. Jon didn’t believe me until he took a bite. He was floored! The texture, the frosting – a Ho-Ho in a brownie-like form. These are made with with zero trans fat and are soy, casein & lactose-free.

Shabtai Gourmet offers free shipping on all continental US orders! I noticed that they have Ring Tings, which appear to be Hostess-like chocolate cupcakes with cream filling that I bet taste a lot like a Ho-Ho! I think that we will be placing an order soon.

It is companies like this that makes life for those who have to follow a gluten-free diet a little bit easier. I love to show my loyalty by supporting these companies and telling all my friends about them.

Thanks for letting us know these brownies freeze well. I’ve had them and agree they are great. I’m going to my health food store today, which sells these brownies. After your review reminded me how good they are, I’m sure a box will make it into my cart later….lol!
